Bellevue had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Tekonsha Indians with a sharp 36-14 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bellevue got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zain Qahwash out in front who threw for 105 yards and three TDs on only five passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and one score. Those 38 rushing yards gave Qahwash a new career-high. Bellevue's leading receiver Wyatt Dunlap was Qahwash's top target yet again, picking up 105 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellevue will head out to take on Lenawee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Tekonsha, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Camden-Frontier at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. The matchup will give the Indians their first taste of in-conference action this season.
