Basketball Game Preview: Lexington Minutemen vs. Richmond Spartans

Lexington hasn't had much luck against Richmond recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lexington Minutemen will take on the Richmond Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Lexington will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Lexington will bounce into Friday's match after beating Plattsburg, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lexington enjoyed a cozy 61-47 win over Plattsburg on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Richmond came up short against Holden on Monday and fell 56-47. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lexington pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Lexington beat Richmond 42-33 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Lexington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richmond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
