Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Christian Academy Trojans vs. Community Christian Cyclones

The Bethel Christian Academy Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Community Christian Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bethel Christian Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight defeats, while Community Christian will come in with three straight wins.

Bethel Christian Academy came into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Jones by a score of 65-63 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Bethel Christian Academy has suffered since January 27th.

Meanwhile, Community Christian was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Sallie B. Howard 72-43. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-25.

Bethel Christian Academy better keep an eye on Evan Gattis. He was instrumental in Community Christian's win, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 20 points along with five assists and five steals. That's the most steals Gattis has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Allegood, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points and four steals.

Community Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Community Christian's record is now 5-1. As for Bethel Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Bethel Christian Academy was taken down by Community Christian 76-22 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
