Softball Recap: Polk County Slammers vs. Pierce Bluejays
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Aquinas, Polk County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Pierce Bluejays 14-8. Considering the Slammers have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Adrienne Waller made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
