Baseball Recap: Ennis Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Ennis never let their opponents score on Friday. They came out on top against the Crandall Pirates by a score of 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-4 last Tuesday.

Not much got past Caleb Beauchamp, who gave up just a hit to keep Crandall off the board. That's the fewest hits Beauchamp has allowed over his last three matches.

At the plate, Ennis' victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Blaine Zhanel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ennis hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive games.

Ennis pushed their record up to 9-6-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Crandall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
