Basketball Game Preview: Berkner Rams vs. Irving Tigers

The Berkner Rams will square off against the Irving Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkner knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 23 contests -- so hopefully Irving likes a good challenge.

Berkner is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Lake Highlands just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took an 81-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Irving, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Nimitz out 42-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Vikings since February 1, 2022.

Berkner's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-11. As for Irving, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-16.

Berkner took their win against Irving in their previous matchup on January 3rd by a conclusive 55-33. Will Berkner repeat their success, or does Irving have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
