Soccer Game Preview: Van vs. Cumberland Academy

The Van Vandals will take on the Cumberland Academy Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Van and 13 for Cumberland Academy.

Van fell victim to Athens and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Vandals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 647th, while the Hornets are ranked 308th).

Meanwhile, Cumberland Academy also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 8-0 to Chapel Hill on Tuesday.

Van's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Cumberland Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
