Football Game Preview: Joshua Owls vs. Cleburne Yellowjackets + How To Watch

The Joshua Owls will venture away from home to take on the Cleburne Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Joshua and six for Cleburne.

Joshua came up short against Highland Park last Friday, falling 34-10. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Scots are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Cleburne had to suffer through a 56-14 loss at the hands of Highland Park.

Joshua will need to focus on slowing down Zaidyn Husband, one of several Cleburne players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 105 yards and one TD. CJ Kensley also helped out with an impressive 104 receiving yards.

Joshua now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Cleburne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Joshua's way against Cleburne when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Joshua made off with a 31-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Owls since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
