Northeastern won the last time they faced Franklin County and things went their way on Saturday too. The Northeastern Knights were the clear victor by a 66-45 margin over the Franklin County Wildcats. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Northeastern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tre Vanlandingham out in front who made all 8 shots he took for 18 points. Another player making a difference was Sam White, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds.

Northeastern was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin County only racked up eight assists.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin County lost, don't look at Carson Allen. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 13 en route to 18 points. Allen continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Isaiah Kemp was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Franklin County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern will head out to square off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cambridge City Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season. As for Franklin County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shelbyville at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th.
