Softball Recap: Orono Takes a Loss

Benilde-St. Margaret hit Orono with a four-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 12-2 to the Red Knights. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Orono saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stella Oh, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Orono and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orono will take on New Prague at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they will square off against St. Louis Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
