Recap: Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks vs. Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins
Even though the Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks have not done well against the Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Norfolk Collegiate strolled past Cape Henry Collegiate with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. The victory was familiar territory for Norfolk Collegiate who now have five in a row.
Norfolk Collegiate got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rashaad Williams out in front who scored 22 points along with six assists and four steals. Williams hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Brennan Chatman was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Norfolk Collegiate pushed their record up to 17-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for Cape Henry Collegiate, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Norfolk Collegiate will face off against Indian River at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Indian River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Norfolk Collegiate is ranked eighth). As for Cape Henry Collegiate, they will head out on the road to challenge Norview at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
