Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Calvary Christian Warriors

Shorecrest Prep is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Calvary Christian is on a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Shorecrest Prep Chargers will welcome the Calvary Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shorecrest Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.

Shorecrest Prep's tournament run continued when they took on Bloomingdale on Saturday. Shorecrest Prep snuck past Bloomingdale with a 47-41 win. The 47-point effort marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

It was another big night for Nickolas Bearden, who posted 29 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Shorecrest Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Crumity, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian rang in the new year with a 71-64 victory over East Lake on Saturday.

Calvary Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Shorecrest Prep, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Shorecrest Prep came up short against Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 40-29. Can Shorecrest Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
