Softball Recap: Newport Harbor Takes a Loss

Newport Harbor extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 10-17 in the process. They came up short against the Marina Vikings, falling 13-0. The Sailors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Marina, the win got them back to even at 13-13. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Marina's part, they got a big performance out of Ava Kim, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Gabriella DiBenedetto, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marina beat Newport Harbor by a score of 10-0 on Tuesday.
