Football Recap: Welsh Takes a Loss

Welsh played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights and fell 52-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost five in a row.

Lafayette Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caiden Bellard out in front who rushed for 160 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also threw for 46 yards and one TD. Braylon Walker was another key passer, throwing for 129 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes.

Welsh's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Welsh will challenge Lake Arthur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Evangel Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
