Softball Recap: Auburn Mountainview Lions vs. Central Kitsap Cougars
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against River Ridge, Auburn Mountainview was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Central Kitsap Cougars out 7-5. That's more bragging rights for Auburn Mountainview, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Shelby Mason was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Lila McBee was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
On Central Kitsap's side, Ava Day was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Scarlet Mabe, who got four hits from her four at bats.
Auburn Mountainview's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-7. As for Central Kitsap, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.
As of now, neither Auburn Mountainview nor Central Kitsap have any future games scheduled.
