Basketball Recap: Southern Wake Academy Takes a Loss

Southern Wake Academy lost against Triangle Math & Science back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southern Wake Academy Lions fell 44-37 to the Triangle Math & Science Tigers. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zainab Mcelhinney had an outrageously good game for Triangle Math & Science as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Mcelhinney a new career-high in points. Mennatullah Ibrahim was another key player, putting up eight points and 12 boards.

Southern Wake Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Triangle Math & Science, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Southern Wake Academy will host Clover Garden School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triangle Math & Science, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Triangle Math & Science Tigers take on the River Mill Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triangle Math & Science has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
