Basketball Game Preview: Dolores Bears vs. North Park Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Dolores Bears will jump right back in to play the North Park Wildcats at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Dolores is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Dolores' tournament run continued when they took on De Beque on Friday. Dolores received a blow as they fell 64-46 to De Beque.

Dolores might have lost, but man, Michael Rantz was a machine: he went 9 of 18 on his way to 23 points and four steals. The game was Rantz's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Koby McClellan, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, North Park lost to Dove Creek on the road by a 41-27 margin on Friday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dolores will have to keep a close watch on Chris Reyes and Aiden Pittington, a pair of players who had a big impact on North Park's prior game. Reyes put up ten points, while Pittington had six points.

North Park now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Dolores, their record now sits at 1-4.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Dolores has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
