Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for East Jefferson

East Jefferson posted their closest win since December 4, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past the Edna Karr Cougars 49-47. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Cougars are ranked 49th).

East Jefferson has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Edna Karr, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-13.
