Soccer Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Iowa City back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hawks lost 7-0 to the Little Hawks. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Iowa City are ranked 33rd).

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Iowa City, they pushed their record up to 10-3-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will venture away from home to challenge Kennedy at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Jefferson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Iowa City, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Xavier on the 22nd.
