Baseball Recap: Calvary Day School Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Calvary Day School Cougars came up short against the Surry Central Golden Eagles and fell 7-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calvary Day School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Setliff, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Brycen Gerlach also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Calvary Day School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Surry Central, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Day School will challenge Wesleyan Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Surry Central, they will square off against Alleghany at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Surry Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
