Basketball Recap: Ventura Takes a Loss

Ventura was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Brentwood School Eagles, falling 79-39. The Cougars lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 56-48 score last time.

Ventura's loss came despite strong showings from Henry Oesterle and Joe Rose. Oesterle posted ten points, while Rose scored six points and five boards.

Ventura's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brentwood School, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ventura wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-48 defeat against Golden Valley on the 21st. As for Brentwood School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-49 win against Westlake on the 21st.
