Baseball Preview: Citrus Hurricanes vs. North Marion Colts        
        
		
            
 The Citrus Hurricanes will head out on the road to  face off against  the North Marion Colts at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Both teams come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Having struggled with 17  losses in a row, Citrus finally turned things around against Wesley Chapel  on Thursday. Citrus came out on top against Wesley Chapel by a score of  5-2.
  Robert Pierson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Pierson has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Pierson was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with a  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Trey Hopkins, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, North Marion scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand West Port  a   16-0 shutout. With that  win, North Marion brought their scoring average up to 6.3  runs per game.
  Ayden Gonzalez looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Rowan Quartararo, who  fired off two  home runs, nine  RBI,  and three  runs while going 4-for-4.  Tucker Jones was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Citrus' victory  ended  a  nine-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 3-21. As for North Marion, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last 12 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record  this season.
 Citrus might still be hurting after the  13-2 defeat they got from North Marion  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023.
