If Lane Tech was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Taft on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Champions took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hononegah Indians on Saturday. The Champions' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Gianna Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Brobson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Lane Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Hononegah, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Lane Tech will challenge McHenry at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hononegah, they will square off against Antioch at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
