Volleyball Recap: Jocelyn Serra and Sophia Ocasio Secure Win for Lake Nona

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Innovation, Lake Nona was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Jones Fightin' Tigers.

Lake Nona was led to victory by Sophia Ocasio and Jocelyn Serra. Ocasio had ten assists and two aces, while Serra had 12 digs. Serra has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last seven times she's played. Rebecca Wolff also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Lake Nona was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Lake Nona is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Jones, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Lake Nona has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Boone on the 18th. As for Jones, they are taking a road trip to challenge Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
