When it comes to explaining why Mead lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christian Hiner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 99 yards and a touchdown on only six passes. Austin Ott made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Durango pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points per game. As for Mead, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Durango will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Lutheran at 1:00 p.m. Lutheran has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 250 points over their last five games. Mead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
