St. Michael had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Los Alamos Hilltoppers by a score of 3-1. The Horsemen are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight dating back to last season.

St. Michael's had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Ava Lewis and Casey Bowen, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Emily Villanueva and her 14 assists. She and Lewis didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

St. Michael's didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sandia Prep on the 28th. As for Los Alamos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against East Mountain on the 28th.
