Softball Game Preview: LaPoynor Flyers vs. Frankston Indians

LaPoynor hasn't had much luck against Frankston recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The LaPoynor Flyers will head out to square off against the Frankston Indians at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (LaPoynor has nine straight victories, Frankston has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

LaPoynor is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Cayuga by a score of 9-5 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Flyers have won by exactly four runs.

Hadley Rhodes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reagan Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Rhodes wasn't the only one working in the hit department: LaPoynor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Frankston didn't have quite enough to beat Cross Roads on Friday and fell 5-3.

Frankston's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for LaPoynor, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 9-5.

LaPoynor suffered a grim 24-0 defeat to Frankston in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can LaPoynor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
