Baseball Recap: Dutch Fork Victorious

Dutch Fork won the last time they faced Mid-Carolina and things went their way on Friday too. The Silver Foxes walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Rebels.

Ethan Offing was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Dutch Fork's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Luciano Cesario was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dutch Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Dutch Fork's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mid-Carolina, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dutch Fork will face off against White Knoll at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silver Foxes are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mid-Carolina, they are taking a road trip to challenge River Bluff at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Gators will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
