Football Game Preview: Millard North Mustangs vs. Papillion-LaVista South Titans + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Isaiah Traylor and Derek Jones are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Millard North Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Papillion-LaVista South Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Millard North sitting on three straight wins and Papillion-LaVista South on eight.

Millard North is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They slipped by Omaha North 30-29.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Traylor and Jaron Cannon. Traylor had a great game and rushed for 109 yards and one score. Meanwhile, Cannon was balling out in the loss, rushing for 196 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Millard North, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kaden Craig, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Papillion-LaVista South won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Lincoln North Star 23-22.

Millard North better focus on containing Grant Beckenhauer and Chester Mendoza as the pair were huge in Papillion-LaVista South's win. Beckenhauer rushed for 16 yards and a pair of TDs, while Mendoza rushed for 81 yards. Beckenhauer also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Papillion-LaVista South's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Millard North, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Millard North took a serious blow against Papillion-LaVista South in their previous matchup back in September, falling 51-7. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Mustangs were down 30-0.
