Recap: Greater Johnstown Trojans vs. Bishop McCort Crushers
The Greater Johnstown Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 30 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 81-30 win over Bishop McCort on the road. Given Greater Johnstown's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Bishop McCort is ranked 171st), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Greater Johnstown to victory were Donte Tisinger and Jahmir Collins. Tisinger scored 23 points, while Collins scored 28 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tisinger has scored at least 25% of Greater Johnstown's points. Amire Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Greater Johnstown's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.6 points per game. As for Bishop McCort, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Johnstown will take on Central Cambria at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Central Cambria focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Monday. As for Bishop McCort, they will be playing at home against Bishop Carroll at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 68.3 so far this season, Bishop Carroll's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Bishop McCort better be ready for a challenge.
