Basketball Recap: Thomasville Takes a Loss

If Thomasville was feeling good fresh off their 71-34 takedown of South Davidson last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thomasville Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 46-45 to the South Rowan Raiders. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Thomasville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for South Rowan, with the victory, they broke their 35-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomasville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lexington at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for South Rowan, they will square off against Carson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully South Rowan likes a good challenge.
