Softball Recap: Meigs County Triumphs

While Meigs County's win against Bradley Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Bears on Monday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Cali Armour made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Armour was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Makenna Long and Elizabeth Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Long went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Miller went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those four RBI gave Long a new career-high. Annslee Maddron was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Meigs County's record is now 8-11. As for Bradley Central, their record now sits at 11-11.

Looking ahead, Meigs County will challenge Tellico Plains at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bradley Central, they will take on East Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
