Baseball Recap: Okawville Comes Up Short

Okawville lost against Carlyle last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rockets lost 20-10 to the Indians/Lady Indians. Even if the Rockets couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Hayden Heintz was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaden Buehler, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Okawville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Carlyle, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Okawville will host Red Bud at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlyle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Farina South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Indians/Lady Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
