Volleyball Recap: Stamford Extends Winning Streak to Four

Stamford proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Joel Barlow Falcons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Knights have posted since April 12, 2024.

Stamford was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-101), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Alec Antipuesto paced Stamford's offense, picking up 23 kills. Antipuesto got some help from Ethan Taylor and his 48 assists. Antipuesto and Taylor didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

The win keeps Stamford at an undefeated 4-0. As for Joel Barlow, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stamford will face off against Masuk at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Black Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Joel Barlow, they will head out to take on Greenwich at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
