Basketball Game Preview: South Beloit Sobos vs. Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes

The South Beloit Sobos will be taking part in a tournament against the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Beloit had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by Oregon 74-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Sobos have suffered since January 25th.

South Beloit's defeat came about despite a quality game from Coltan Porter, who posted six points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Marian Central Catholic ended up a good deal behind Oregon on Wednesday and lost 68-53.

Everything came up roses for South Beloit against Marian Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 72-40 win. Do the Sobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
