Softball Recap: Atascadero Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Atascadero and Templeton have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Greyhounds came up short against the Eagles, falling 17-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 back in March.

Samantha Bedell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Kaylee Pryor was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Atascadero's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Templeton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Atascadero will be taking part in a tournament against Golden West at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Templeton, they will take on Taft in a tournament on Saturday.
