            Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Tigers vs. Bloomer Blackhawks        
        
		
        
        
            Northwestern lost against Bloomer back in October of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of  2-1. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blackhawks  25-15 in the first  set.
 Northwestern started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-17,  15-9.

 Northwestern's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Genna Kreuser, who  had 11  digs and two  aces, and  Emma Dahl, who  had ten assists and three  digs. Kreuser has been hot recently, having  posted ten or more  digs the last three times she's  played.
 Bloomer was led to victory by  Brooke Petska and  Kaycee Schmidt.  Petska  had 11  digs and one  assist, while  Schmidt  had six  digs and two  aces. That's the most  aces  Schmidt has posted  over her last six  contests.  Ilona Tozer also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first assist of the season.
Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Bloomer, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-13.
 Northwestern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  2-0  victory against Ladysmith on the 4th. As for Bloomer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  2-0  win against St. Croix Central on the 4th.
