Basketball Game Preview: Palmyra Panthers vs. Monroe City Panthers

We've got a battle between Panthers coming up.

Last Saturday, Palmyra came up short against Central/Southeastern and fell 59-48. While losing is never fun, Palmyra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 110th in Missouri, while Central/Southeastern is ranked 19th in Illinois).

Meanwhile, Monroe City didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Hannibal on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory.

This is the second loss in a row for Palmyra and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Monroe City, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Palmyra couldn't quite finish off Monroe City when the teams last played back in January and fell 52-50. Can Palmyra avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
