The Legacy Lightning will be taking part in a tournament against the Castle View Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Legacy focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.

While Lightning fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thornton 57-11. The Lightning pushed the score to 54-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Olivia Mortensen had an outrageously good game as she almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was her 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Martin, who went 5 for 10 en route to 10 points plus five rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Castle View unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to Pueblo West 27-23.

Legacy was able to grind out a solid win over Castle View in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, winning 47-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
