Softball Recap: Thomas Worthington Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Hartley, Thomas Worthington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats. This was payback for the CARDINALS, who suffered a 13-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sophie Newsom made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Newsom was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Riley O'Neill and Delaney Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: O'Neill scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Jackson scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Arden Surbella was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The win got Thomas Worthington back to even at 1-1. As for Hilliard Davidson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
