Basketball Recap: Providence Christian Comes Up Short

Providence Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by the New Jerusalem Christian Academy Eagles and fell 69-17. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Donathan Edwards, who went 7 of 14 en route to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That's the most boards Edwards has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah Marcellus, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Providence Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Christian will host Palm Grove Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Jerusalem Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Community Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
