If NorthWood was riding high fresh off their 68-42 takedown of Plymouth last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The NorthWood Panthers fell to the Westfield Shamrocks 38-33. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why NorthWood lost on Friday, don't look at Claire Payne. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 9 on her way to 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Branham, who posted six points and seven boards.

Westfield was led to victory by Makayla Hatcher and Aubrey Crockett. Hatcher had 15 points and four steals, while Crockett put up ten points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Hatcher a new career-high in points.

NorthWood's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Westfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

NorthWood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-27 loss against Penn on the 27th. As for Westfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-32 victory against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on the 27th.
