Baseball Game Preview: Lee Williams Volunteers vs. Prescott Badgers

For the second straight game, Lee Williams will face off against Prescott. The Volunteers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Badgers at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

Lee Williams came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-1 to Prescott. The defeat continues a trend for the Volunteers in their meetings with the Badgers: they've now lost six in a row.

For Prescott's part, Adrian Sanderford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Sanderford was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Prescott got a massive performance out of Lucas Tobin, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The Badgers are undefeated when Tobin posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Nick Martin was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Prescott hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Prescott has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Lee Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
