Baseball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Lapel Bulldogs

The Tipton Blue Devils will face off against the Lapel Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tipton comes in on four and Lapel on eight.

Tipton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Sheridan 8-6. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by exactly two runs.

The team relied heavily on Evan Coe, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jarren Auler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tipton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Lapel got the win against Elwood on Friday by a conclusive 12-1. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Lapel's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Tipton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-16.

Tipton might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Lapel in their previous matchup back in June of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
