North Rose-Wolcott and Red Creek pushed the score to 20-0 the last time they played Red Creek, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since May 17, 2024.

Evan DeWispelaere made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. DeWispelaere was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Stephen Robinson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Marcus Haffner, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

North Rose-Wolcott has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
