Softball Recap: Johnson Comes Up Short

Johnson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-1 to the La Grange Leopards, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Gabby Pugliese made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Aryana Dunkelberger, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Johnson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for La Grange, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Johnson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Tuloso-Midway on the 15th. La Grange has also already played their next match (against Judson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
