Softball Recap: Siegel Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Siegel won the last time they faced Riverdale and things went their way on Thursday too. The Siegel Stars came out on top against the Riverdale Warriors by a score of 9-5.

The team relied heavily on Madisan Holshoe, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Abbigail Raciborski, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Siegel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Siegel's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Riverdale, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Siegel will face off against Rockvale at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverdale, they will challenge Washington at 10:00 a.m. on March 28th.
