Baseball Recap: Riverside Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Riverside entered their tilt with Delaware Valley on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Warriors 14-3. Considering the Vikings have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cooper Borowski made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Jose Sosa and Nicholas Bohenek did most of the damage at the plate: Sosa got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Bohenek went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Bohenek a new career-high. Chris Graff was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Riverside hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive contests.

Riverside's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Delaware Valley, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Riverside has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Old Forge on the 12th. As for Delaware Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-5 win against Valley View on the 12th.
