The Swansboro Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Havelock Rams at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Swansboro had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Jacksonville put an end to it on Friday. Swansboro came up short against Jacksonville, falling 9-1. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Addison McMillan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Swansboro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katherine Cahall, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Havelock lost 16-5 to South Central on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered against the Falcons since March 29, 2022.
Andria Krupey and Addison Jones stepped up to the plate in a big way. Krupey scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Jones scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Salease George was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Even though they lost, Havelock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Havelock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Swansboro, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
