Basketball Recap: Solvay Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Solvay can now relate to. They took a 56-41 bruising from the Holland Patent Golden Knights on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 681st, while the Golden Knights are ranked 228th).

Solvay's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Holland Patent, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Solvay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holland Patent, they will venture away from home to face off against Lowville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Holland Patent's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 contests.
